Delete your account — PetsMatchy

This page is the public web resource for account and data deletion (Google Play User Data policy and Apple account-deletion guidance). You can start deletion in the iOS or Android app. You can also request deletion by email if you cannot open the app.

In the app

Open PetsMatchy and sign in.
Go to Settings (pet owners) or Vet settings (clinic accounts).
Open Delete account.
Confirm that you understand the consequences, type DELETE, and enter your password.

The app then schedules deletion. Your account is not erased at that moment.

The 30-day period

Deletion is scheduled for 30 days after you confirm. During that period:

We send notices related to the request as described in the app.
Signing in before the scheduled date cancels deletion and keeps your account.
After the date passes, we delete the account and associated live data as described below.

This cooling-off period exists so an accidental or pressured request can be stopped. It is not a “freeze” that we treat as completed deletion. Completed deletion removes the account; it is not a reversible deactivation after the 30 days have elapsed.

If you cannot open the app

Email [email protected] from the same address as your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify that it is you before proceeding. We may still apply the 30-day schedule unless a legal requirement or safety reason requires faster action.

What is removed

When deletion completes, we remove your login, profile, pets, posts, comments, matches, and messages from the live service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Content other people posted (for example their comments on your post) may remain with the connection to your account removed or anonymised where the product allows it.

What may be kept for a limited time

We may retain limited records needed for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance — for example abuse reports, ban records, and backups that have not yet rotated. We aim to keep such records no longer than 12 months unless a longer legal hold applies. Screenshots and copies stored on other people’s devices are outside our control.
